Job Description :
NetworkersMSB are currently recruiting for a Technical Assurance Safety Engineer based in Leeds on a 12 months contract.
The post-holder will take a leading role in supporting the Clinical Safety Officer in continuing to refine the Clinical Safety Management System and ensuring all the relevant processes and best practices are followed by suppliers and the NHS.
Although the post will be based in Leeds, frequent UK-wide travel is anticipated. Regular work in London and Slough will be involved, as will occasional trips to other locations. The post-holder must be prepared to stay away from home as required.
Essential Skills:
•Extensive experience of providing technical assurance and assurance against defined safety management processes and procedures. •Evidence of providing safety management and associated governance on a major national infrastructure programme of similar size or complexity for blue chip companies and / or major public sector organisations •Must have personally written Safety Cases for Integrated Systems •Proven experience of working to IEC61508 Part 3 (or similar safety standard in comparable organisation e.g. BNF, Aerospace, GNER etc) and awareness of Health & Safety Executive. •Experienced in analysis of safety hazards for technically complex infrastructures. •Detailed understanding of human factor considerations in patient safety and working knowledge of hazard assessment tools including: Hazop and Fault Tree Analysis. •Experience of identifying content for Safety Cases and preferably, knowledge of the NHS Clinical Safety Management System. •Demonstration of supplier management skills and ability to facilitate resolution of issues in sensitive/political environment. •Ability to work under extreme pressure to tight timescales, with a determination to get the job done. •Qualified to C. Eng status or equivalent. •Flexible in terms of hours of work, including out of hours support as required •Flexibility in terms of willingness to travel.

•Understanding or previous experience of the NHS •Qualified to degree level in suitable related discipline •Facilitation skills and ability to drive resolution on test design issues and the impact on patient safety
